About The Artist

About November of 1956, Ric Cartey released a tune called "Young Love" that got a lot of interest. Later on, we all know that Sonny James covered the song and had a smash hit with it. But, Ric Cartey was also the one that wrote the song. Ric was signed to a recording contract by Steve Sholes of RCA Victor about this time, too.

One of his new releases back then was a tune called "Heart Throb". Another release pending then was "Let Me Tell You About Love" b/w "Born To Love One Woman". The folks at the magazine we read enjoyed the song "Let Me Tell You About Love" so much, that when they first heard it, they were reportedly dancing to it.

Back then the artists wanted to hear what the fans liked and didn't like about their releases. The article asked readers to write to a PO Box in Atlanta, Georgia to offer up which side of the record they liked and what they liked about it, etc.
