About The Artist

This native of Athens, Texas was on radio station KCLE out of Cleburne, Texas in 1953. He was quite a singer and composer and had already penned about 47 songs they said back then. He was said to be negotiating with several recording companies for a contract. He had also been a radio announcer for about six years then.

He fronted his own band which did personal appearances around Texas and Louisiana. At that time, the "Texas Trailblazers" (out of Fort Worth, TX) were backing Gene on the air and on recordings.
