About The Group

The Southern Playboys were an act heard at one time over WLBB, a radio station in Carrollton, Georgia. But their personal appearances took them to the western and northwestern areas of the state., too.

Joe Taylor played the role of emcee for the group and played the guitar, too. Mention was made that at times a "Bobby, Charles and Jimmy Cantrell" team up and sing a number as a trio, but no other mention is made of a "Bobby" or "Jimmy Cantrell" in this brief article.
