About The Group Drake Walsh and Dean Walsh, born in Ferguson, North Carolina, performed as the Walsh Brothers. They came from a bit of a musical family. Their father was Dock Walsh, who was said to be the banjo king of the Carolinas, recording for the Victor and Columbia record labels. The Walsh Brothers recorded a tune for Sky-Way Records. AT the time, Drake was 23 years old and Dean 20. A 1953 article mentions that Dean was known as the "Voice of Carolina" because of "...his soft and smooth singing style."
