About The Artist Back in 1953, Glenn was working in Asheville, North Caorlina and they called him "The Lonesome Mountaineer". They mentioned that his musical philosophy came from a feeling that music was down from the heart. He worked for radio station WLOS in Asheville at the time and they wrote that "...his sincere, down-to-earth singing style has won him a large number of supporters". At the time, he was hoping to hook up with a band to be able to do personal appearances and meet the fans in person. Credits & Sources
