About The Artist
Holly Hoffburg was entertaining audiences in the Twin Falls, Idaho area back in the 1950s. Our research shows he had an early morning show that aired over KLIX called the "Sun-Up Follies" that aired from 6:15am to 6:45am. He featured western music on that show. His work didn't end with that early morning show. He'd be back on the air at noon time for his "Dinner Bell Round-Up Time" show for another half-hour. He must have been doing something right back then. It was said that his show was being heard in the local high school lunch room every weekday. In the evenings, Holly Hoffburg and his H. H. Buckaroos or sometimes the band was known as the Double H Buckaroos did personal appearances throughout the southern Idaho area. The band worked regularly on Saturday nights at the Midway Dance Pavilion. A 1954 article notes the band was billed as the "Happiest Band in Idaho Land." The band worked shows with such name acts as WEbb Pierce, Spade Cooley, Gene Autry, Ferlin Huskey, Jean Shepard, T. Texas Tyler, Rex Allen and Bob Wills when they played the southern Idaho area.
