About The Artist
Billy Hill was a native of Chicago Heights, Illinois. But that was his stage name. His real name was Ralph Cruz. He started his career in the entertainment business when he was just 18 years old at the United States Air Corps Club in Glendale, Arizona. One of the highlights during his early career was sharing the stage with Lefty Frizzell. In 1966, he was working at two radio stations. WLOR in La Porte, Indiana and WYCA-FM in Hammond, Indiana.
