About The Artist

Stormy Young was a native of Fairmont, West Virginia.

He had stints at various radio stations. By late 1955, he was working at WKOA in Hopkinsville, Kentucky where he hosted the "Hillbilly Hit Parade" six days a week.

On Saturdays, he did a live show that featured Stormy and his band, The Thunderbirds. The band made personal appearances throughout western Kentucky and northern Tennessee.

Stormy's fan club was headed up by Jean Cannon over in Crofton, Kentucky back in 1955. The fan club was still being listed in magazines as late as 1958.
