About The Artist Dick Smith, they wrote back in 1955, was employed in November 1954 over radio station WFRM in Coudersport, PA as a "Hillbilly entertainer". As he built his popularity there, he started up a Saturday afternoon show known as the "Allegheny Mountain Jamboree". It appears prior to his stint at WFRM, he was also at such stations as:
While in Coudersport, he had his own band, an article however, only mentioned one band member, a steel guitar player by the name of Kenny Lee. Dick himself was said to have played the Spanish guitar. In 1955, he had a six day a week show, Monday through Saturday from 6:05am to 7:00am called the "Chuck Wagon Roundup" as well as an afternoon show from 3:30pm to 4:00pm on a show that was called the "Mid-afternoon Jamboree".
