About The Artist Gordon "Red" Simmons was working as a disc jockey over CKNX in Wingham, Ontario around 1953 or so. Before he took on the role of disc jockey, he was playing guitar with Earl Heywood and the Serenade Ranch Gang. While with them, he appeared on the CKNX Barn Dance. He was responsible for six hours of Western entertainment at the station each week. One show fans were familiar with was his "Red's Record Round-Up". Credits & Sources
