About The Artist
Betty Jane Walsworth was the daughter of Charles Lyman and Hazel (Pelton) Walsworth. While her obituary states she was born in Portland, ME, the 1930 census shows the family was living in Geneva, NY. Her father was a machinist at a canning plant. The 1950 census shows the family had moved to Pittsfield, ME and her father was a foreman at a canning plant. She began performing at a very early age. Promotional ads were touting her as "Little Personality Girl" or "Singer and Dancer" - in 1934 when she would have been about 5 years old. She was both a singer and dancer.
She married Walter F. Wallace on August 20, 1951 at the Stevens Avenue Congregational Church with the Rev. Walter K. Miller presiding. Betty died at the age of 74 following a brief illness. Her husband preceded her in death in 1992. Credits & Sources
