About The Artist

Carol Williams was born on a farm near Plain Dealing, Louisiana. When she was fifteen, she was singing and playing guitar on an amateur program over KCIJ out of Shreveport, Louisiana.

When she was just starting high school, she appeared on the KMHT "Marshall Jamboree" in Marshall, Texas with her manager, A.T. Young. She also did a fair amount of entertaining for charitable organizations such as the schools, hospitals and private clubs.

Carol also appaeared with many stars of the Louisana Hayride and by 1953 was making the rounds of the radio stations in the area as well as playing various night clubs there.
