About The Artist
Tex White was the popular emcee and singing star on the old Hoosierland Barn Dance in the mid-1950s. He had a WLBC show at 6:45am each day. They mentioned that the Hoosierland Barn Dance was held each Saturday night at the Gibson arena from 10:30pm to midnight. Tex was a native of Texas, but moved to Tennessee where he had a brief stint with radio station WCYB in Bristol. They said this moving around may be why he named his band the "Tennessee Ramblers", though not the same group that we have read about previously that was also called the Tennessee Ramblers.
