About The Artist
Herb Williams was one of the features of the Lazy Ranch Boys Barn Dance that broadcast over WXYZ in Detroit, Michigan back in the early 1950s. He played rhythm guitar and would do most of the solo singing. He'd do ballads or folk songs and would also do recitations and poems that were popular with the audiences. Many of those were Herb's own original compositions. He was known as a 'plain down-to-earth' type of person and they called him "The Country Gentleman" then.
