About The Artist Johnny got involved in music when he was young and kept at it even while he was in the Navy. In 1952, he signed a recording contract with the Columbia record label. He had a band called the "Sundowners". Johnny was appearing weekly over radio station KNUZ in Houston and often appeared on the local television shows on KPRC in Houston, too. Johnny Ragsdale also did a few guest appearances on the big southwest jamboree radio shows - the "Big D Jamboree" up Dallas way and the local "Houston Jamboree". His 'new' recording back then was "Stand-In Sweetheart" with "Someone Parted Our Love In The Middle" on the other side. Credits & Sources
