KFRO East Texas Hillbilly Jamboree

In Country Song Roundup, Editor Norman Silver wrote in his column, "Editor's Memo" in issue Vol. 1, No. 30, Mar-Apr. 1954:

"Heard from W.S. Samuels down at Longview, Texas, who tells us of the opeining of the new "East Texas Hillbilly Jamboree" December 8 at the Rita Theater. Claude King and the "Road Runners," along with some 30 entertainers, will kick off the 2-hour show, half of which will be broadcast over KFRO. If any acts—either singles or package shows—wish to try out for the "Jamboree", they are invited to contact W.S. Samuels, East Texas Hillbilly Jamboree Artist Bureau, P.O. Box 1381, Longview, Texas."
