What Odey Crabtree, Radio and Television Country Star From West Virginia Dies at 72

Odey Crabtree went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2009.

He was born on May 18, 1936 in Huntington, WV. Odey gained fame as a country western singer starring in TV and radio shows for over twenty years.

Odey moved to San Antonio in 1970. He and his wife, Helen owned and operated Mark VII Advertising and First Video Productions.

Odey was preceded in death by his Father George, Mother Rosa Sansom Crabtree and sister Theldia Blankenship.

Odey is survived by his loving wife Helen, son Mark and wife Susan, son Brad and wife Berta and grandchildren Brandon, Indy and Bethany and sisters, Esta Spears and Retha Neale and husband Jay and brothers-in-law Marlin Clark (WV) and Ken Clark and wife, Beverly (TX).

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Regent Care at the Medical Center and Odyssey Hospice Nurses, especially Suzette.

Viewing will be held at Sunset Funeral Home February 18, 2009 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home February 19, 2009 at 12 noon The service will be officiated by Chaplain Ed Haynes and Peter Dunn. Pall Bearers are Calvin Graham, Keith Mason, Frank Paul, Gene Hansbauer, Emmitt Adkins, Bob Mahnken, Kenneth Clark and Raymond Garcia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the National Cancer Institute.
