For the second consecutive year the next September 17 we celebrate
The International Country Music Day. We want this date to become a
musical and an human bridge between worldwide people that love Country Music.
The 2003 edition was successful, the congratulations and the replies to
it arrived from all around the world: USA, Germany, France, Argentina...
Artists like Gail Davies or Heather Myles expressed their good
desires for this day as well as a lot of new friends from all the planet.
Kris Kristofferson, the legendary outlaw singer recently supported this
celebration in a interview granted to Javier Márquez, journalist of the
spanish music magazine EFE EME saying: “Music is life, or a good way...
Don´t matter if you´re talking about country, blues or flamenco. If you
can discover to a man to your side a new kind of music (what means a new world),
that´s great. I think it´s a good news that people of the whole world meet for
love to country or any other kind of music. Already they are too many people
those who meet for kill themselves.”
The International Country Music Day its celebrated the September 17 coinciding
with the anniversary of the birth of the legendary Hank Williams who would get
the age of 81 this year.
This month, the singer Jett Williams knew about this initiative in an interview
granted to the spanish journalist Ramón Sampé. She expressed her pleasure with
it: “I’m honored as his daughter, and I know that If he was alive today he
would be excited”.
This year edition have a new logo created by the designer Joaquín Ortíz
and it shows an important novelty. The members of CMA-Spain voted for the
song which will represent the International Country Music Day and ”Hey, Good
Lookin´” was chosen in anyone of its different versions,
included the Jimmy Buffett and Friends one with Alan Jackson,
Clint Back, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, and George Strait.
If you want to celebrate this new date in the country music
calendar “Hey, Good Lookin´” could be a great song to do it!.
