Quanah Talmadge Tubb, 81, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in
El Paso with his family by his side.
Talmadge was born December 21, 1925, in Crisp. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather
and great-grandfather.
Talmadge proudly served in the U.S. Navy as gunner's mate from 1942-1946.
He was a singer, songwriter and nephew of legendary country singer Ernest Tubb.
Talmadge wrote many of his famous country hits
such as "Seamen's Blues," "Jealous Lovin' Heart" and "Waltz Across Texas."
He formed the American Life and Accident Insurance Co. in Fort Worth. Talmadge spent
his retirement years in El Paso.
Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Bobbie Jane Tubb; daughters, Debbie Ford, Delena
Urke and Debrena David; son, Robert Talmadge Tubb; 15 grandchildren; and
10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Private.
