About the Group
About The Group In early 1953, we find there's a very young hillbilly band that was being played on "The Lucky 'Ole Station" in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They were called the "String Busters," and were made up of a group of honor students from Hot Springs High School. Even as young as they were, the boys had been playing together for about two years. The Strand Theatre gave them their first break, then the folks at Colman Floor Furance used their program for three months through a local furniture store. They played gigs at all the civic clubs and other local clubs and they never failed to respond to requests from the huge Army and Navy Hospital to entertain the patients.
