They were a sensation not just as entertainers, but were a hit with the sponsor as they saw their breakfast food product sales go up. Even back then, the breakfast food market was hotly competed and they said this act got their sponsor's product to the top of the heap. Part of the credit was attributed to Ted Krey, the popular announcer with the Hugh Cross gang.
