About The Group

The Dixie Reelers appeared to have come on the hillbilly music scene around 1949 or so, when they made a hit with the audiences on the WKDR Jamboree in Newberg, South Carolina.

From there, the group moved to radio station WKOK in Pennsylvania and also did appearances at the local U.S. Army and Air Force reruiting stations.
