The Dixie Cats

About The Group

The Washington, DC area was home to the Dixie Cats back in 1957. The leader of the group was a guy by the name of Lucky Laine who played rhythm guitar along with doing the vocals. A disc jockey from radio station WINX in Rockville, Maryland, John Robbins, was quoted as saying, "I feel as though these boys can really make the big time in Country music becuase they play music with good feeling and rhythm."
