About The Group The Laurentian Valley Boys were heard every Saturday from 5:00 to 5:30pm over CFCH out of North Bay, Ontario back in 1953. The band gained some fame by touring with some of the major USA acts when they toured Canada. Among them were Lulu Belle and Scotty, Smiley Burnette, Grandpa Jones and Ramona, Ramblin' Lou and numerous others. The group was playing regularly at the Algonquin Dance Hall that was located on the shores of "beautiful Lake Trout". During the summer months, they were playing at the Top Hat Pavilion on Lake Nippising. One highlight of the band's career was being asked to perform for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Consort Philip when the royal couple toured the North Bay in 1952. Credits & Sources
