About The Disc Jockey / Emcee Lew was the Jamboree announcer who took over the reigns from Bill Thomas. It was said that some of the Jamboree's largest audiences up to that time occurred during his tenure. Lew was known to be a friend of entertainer and listeners alike. He also had experience on the stage, performing with traveling dance bands. The 1942 WWVA Jamboree song folio cited this experience as valuable to help keep the Jamboree a show that was '...truly for the people.'
