About The Artist

Slim Celsie was Canadian singer, appearing to be from Thorold, Ontario, who recorded for the Northern label at one time and said to be one of the top yodelers in Canada. His career was a bit of a winding road of sorts before he began to settle in and sign with a label. By 1956 or so, he was based in the Toronto, Ontario area.

They wrote that he toured for about twelve years in the typical venues of the 1940s - theatres - throughout Ontario. His inspirations were the legendary Wilf Carter, Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams.

Some of the tunes he recorded (and wrote as well) were:

  • My Sweet Mountain Yodeler
  • Always Left Alone
  • Come Visit Me In My Swiss Chalet
