About The Artist Virginia-born Richard "Curley" Lambert spent most of his career as a band member in several bluegrass groups, most notably the Stanley Brothers (three different sojourns). He also toured and recorded with such bands as those of Bill and Mary Reid, Bill Clifton, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, Charlie Moore and Bill Napier, the Goins Brothers, and finally Charlie Moore again. Curley spent shorter periods with the Masters Family and Chief Powhatan's Bluegrass Braves. While working with the Goins Brothers, he recorded a long-play album under his own name on the Old Homestead label, consisting of instrumentals and a few vocals. He always considered his best effort to be the mandolin work on the Stanley Brothers gospel classic "Rank Stranger." Credits & Sources Hillbilly-Music.com would like to express its thanks to Ivan M.
