About The Artist Six foot three Big Jim Meehan was a hillbilly act popular on the east coast of the country back in the early 1950s. Jim had a 12 week show that aired over WATV out of Newark, New Jersey. He also did guest appearances on WPIX out of New York City. His broadcasting career also included a 20 week stint over radio station WAAT in Newark, New Jersey and by 1952, was still doing guest appearances there. Jim also did the electric guitar work on many of Texas Jim Robertson's RCA Victor recordings. He also did some club work at the Village Barn in New York, the Club Argyle in New Jersey and the Gay Ninties Club in Hempsted, New York. Credits & Sources
