About The Artist Here real name was Florence Morosco and she was from the town of Cardale, Pennsylvania. She said she got her start in radio in 1938 on a small station that aired out of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. In a few months, she got the opportunity to join the "Down On The Farm Gang" over at WWVA in Wheeling, West Virginia. But that act disbanded in a few months time. She then joined "Shorty Fincher and the Cotton Pickers". She was a vocalist and did yodeling tunes as her name might suggest.
