Tiny Joe Simpson WCOP Hayloft Jamboree

About The Artist August 1953 sees New York had one of country music's 'biggest' entertainers in "Tiny" Joe Simpson. They wrote "...take 100 pounds of squeeze-box (accordion) rhythm, plus 100 pounds of sweet warbling, plus another 100 pounds of great song writing...". Tiny was a native of Florida and got his break when he was 17, in 1937, by joining Zeb Carter and the Country Cousins at the Village Barn in New York City. Later, Tiny played accordion with Elton Britt and Eddie Zack's Dude Ranch and also on Hayloft Jamborees in Providence and Boston. Tiny also appeared on "Uncle" Tom George's 'Saturday Night, Country Style' program over the NBC network and also with Burt Hilber on his Dumont Network television show. Tiny had a group "The Blue Sky Ramblers" back around mid-1953 and were said to be in their sixth month of appearances at the Palm Terrace in Brooklyn.
