About The Artist
Jack Harrell got his start in radio about 1948 or so. He started off as continuity director and disc jockey at WOBS in Jacksonville, Florida. As station management saw his work, they gave him a try at the morning jamboree show that at the time was a three hour show that was on from 6:00am to 9:00am.
He succeeded in turning the morning show into a bit of a "...homey little show featuring all types of hillbilly and gospel music."
A few years later, it was still going strong with Grandpa Dudley Hadacol being the co-stars. The show also featured informal interviews with the country stars as they made appearances in the areak including Eddy Arnold, Cowboy Copas, Rusty Gabbard and Minnie Pearl.
