About The Artist
Betty and Paul Barber were a young brother-sister act in the mid-1950s, working then over WWKY in Winchester, Kentucky since 1955. Paul was 10 years old at the time and a sixth grade student. Betty was 19 years old. The two got their program as a result of winning an amateur contest at the local Owingsville School. The radio station had studios in Mt. Sterling and Owingsville, which allowed them to do their show from the Owingsville Farmer Supply Store near home. The Barbers also played with Esco Hankins and his Tennesseeans over WLAP out of Lexington, Kentucky. Credits and Sources
