About The Artist
Dave Brackman started his life in Campbellsville, Kentucky. His boyhood was much like that of any young country boy back then. He didn't really take to music until he was in the military service and happened to hear Ernest Tubb. That led to Dave getting aspirations of becoming a hillbilly singer himself. But first, Dave completed his Army stint, which lasted nine years. After the Army, he became a disc jockey and worked at such stations as:
By 1955, he was at WINN in Louisville where he also played each night at the "Fabulous Club" in Louisville with his band, The Twilight Ramblers". An article mentions that the band had four members, but no mention of their names or what they played is given. In 1955, they wrote he was married to Martha Kay Radcliffe who was from Hardensburg, Indiana; they had two kids, Richard Allen and Shiela Ann. Credits & Sources
