Freddie "Careless" Love was a vocalist at one time with the Spade Cooley band. Freddie joined Spade's organization shortly after he finished an eight year stint in the military service in the U.S. Navy. By 1952, he was finishing up two years as the vocalist with Spade's band.

Back then, he was making his home in Spartansburg, South Carolina. He had his own fan club and back then, it had over 4,000 members.

He was appearing regularly each Saturday night on KTLA-TV from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on the Spade Cooley Show.
