About The Artist
Randy Boone first got her start over radio station KMOR in Oroville, California in 1951. About a year later, she had organized her own western band. Then she got a break in 1953 when she recorded two of her own tunes for the Rocket Record company, "The Moonlight Waltz" and "I Met A Fellow Six Foot Three". They said she had a 'deep husky voice, inimitable styling...' In mid-1953, she was appearing with the "Sierra Melody Gang" over KHSL in Chico, California, six days a week, Monday to Saturday, from 4:15 to 4:30pm and also on KHSL radio and tv from 9:30 to 10:00pm on Wednesdays. Randy was about five foot four, with grey green eyes and reddish hair. Credits & Sources
