Billy Kretchmar Born:  July 9, 1942

About The Artist William Joseph Kretchmar from Kingfisher, OK signed with the Moeller Talent Agency in 1968. He had actually started performing at the age of 12 years old. He had been discovered by Jack Beasley, a local broadcasting personality and radio station owner. Before signing with the agency, he was performing under the name of Billy K-Mar. But some folks gave him feedback on that idea - it sounded too much like a well known discount store (remember blue light special?). The agency suggested a name change.
