Jimmy Martin and the Osborn Brothers

About The Artist Many fans will recognize the names of this trio of hillbilly entertainers as their careers in the bluegrass field are well documented. But for a time, they were playing together. Jimmy Martin was the leader of the group at the time and played the guitar. Bob Osborn as he was known then played the mandolin as well as vocals. Sonny Osborn also sang and played the banjo. At the time we found them, in 1955, they were recording for the RCA Victor label and their releases at that time included "Twenty-twenty Vision", "Save It, Save It". The group was being heard over radio station WJR out of Detroit at the time. Jimmy Martin was from Sneedville, Tennessee while Bob and Sonny Osborn were from Hyden, Kentucky.
